Criteria
for an Emic consultant
Typically,
you will be bi-lingual or tri-lingual, and have in-depth ethnographic
and/or ‘field’ experience in one or more countries.
Ideally, you will have some formal social anthropological
training, and certainly a higher degree in a related subject.
Your presentation skills will be excellent, and you will thrive
upon making ideas come alive in groups, being able to relate your
experience to ongoing discussions on bridging cultural differences.
You will welcome the opportunity to stay for long periods in
your country(s) of expertise and produce a range of research reports -
to a deadline – while you are there.
Your interpersonal skills will be excellent, your ability to
negotiate within and between different cultural perspectives and
needs, outstanding.
